Twilight Encounters

I understand that there might be a very hot reaction to this group and what I'm proposing. Fans of "Twilight", the monstrously popular book series which is about to start its jump to movie screens, will likely be shocked and amazed to discover that vampires are real and very much active in the real world. Real vampires might look down at the "Twilight" phenomenon as yet another in more of a decade of fictional portrayals that have gotten it all wrong. There then is the purpose of this group--to be a place where fans and real vampires can mingle, discuss, and ask questions.

No one owns the vampire, after all.

I've been doing this kind of fact/fiction awareness work for almost twenty years, starting with discussions on Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and moving on from there. One thing I've learned is that if we as real vampires don't step up to address curiosity then others who know nothing about our community will be more than happy to do it. We can help people understand what is fiction and what is fact by making the effort to do it. Times like these are a great opportunity to put a lot of myth and legend to rest.
